Carnaval de Mazatlán

With more than 115 years of tradition, the Carnaval de Mazatlán is the largest allegorical festival in Mexico. A display of the cheerful and uninhibited spirit that always accompanies theporteño, each year, throughout the week, streets, plazas, and themalecónare dressed in colors, music, and beauty with the anticipated coronation of the queen, thejuegos florales, the parade of floats, and the fireworks.

The carnival will catch your attention for its color and joy but also for the bearing and elegance of the queens, who overflow with Creole presence, with grace and distinction.

Sinaloan beauty is not only appreciated in this type of celebration; the body of the women, of medium height, strong build, brown or blonde hair, and generally light-colored eyes, is very expressive and has inspired many allegories, songs, sculptures, and paintings.

The admiration that men have historically paid to women in Sinaloa has been reciprocated with widespread feminine behavior, and it is precisely here that the mediation of coquetry appears, a hallmark of the Sinaloan woman.
