The National Donkey Fair has been celebrated every year since 1965. And over the years, it\\\\\\\'s grown into the most important couple of days in the whole town.
This celebration recognizes donkeys as part of the country\\\'s history and culture - in Otumba, where historically the animals were bred, raised and traded. World Donkey Day doesn\\\'t come up until May 8, but the national fair gets everyone ready.
The entire fair raises awareness of the beasts and who doesn\\\'t want to meet at least one up close and personal?
The National Donkey Fair 2025 is to include:
- MTB Race from Cerro de Tecajete to Otumba
- Coronation of the Queen of the National Donkey Fair
- Lighting of the Traditional Bonfire
- Live music
- Guelaguetza Dances
But at the end of the day, the who fair really is about Donkeys.
