Templo San Felipe y Santiago

​The main colonial construction of the principal town has behind it a troubled history of natural damage and continuous reconstructions. After the catastrophic flooding of the river in 1772, it was necessary to build a new temple to continue the evangelizing work among the indigenous people of the region. It has a sober and very austere appearance with simple moldings on the arch and the jambs of the main door.
