Proyecto Posh

In November, San Cristóbal de Las Casas comes alive with Proyecto Posh, the International Festival of Cultural Expressions of the New Generation. It offers a space for cultural innovation where literature, music, dance, theater, film, graffiti, architecture, and urban art converge, with the goal of serving as a bridge between youth and emerging creative spaces.

At the iconic Daniel Zebadúa Theater, national and international poets take the stage during this event, while a colorful callejoneada (street parade) enlivens the historic center, inviting the entire community to join in. In public parks and cultural centers such as MUSAC, Carlos Jurado, Pabellón Urbano, and Hotel Casa de Familia, workshops, conferences, and exhibitions are held. Orchestras delight audiences of all ages with unforgettable performances.

As night falls, the festival continues with outdoor cinema, participatory graffiti, and spontaneous freestyle shows. The applied architecture contest, held at MUSAC and local theaters, encourages urban and sustainable proposals, fostering a dialogue between youth and public planning.

Free and full of meaningful encounters, Proyecto Posh not only restores the city’s cultural vitality but also positions San Cristóbal as a regional reference point. Its cobbled streets and urban forums transform into a living canvas of artistic exchange. More than a festival, it is a collective healing experience—a clear testimony that emerging culture can rekindle the social fabric, reconcile generations, and shape new visions for the city’s future.
