Cacalotán
Cacalotán is a community located in the mountainous area of the municipality of El Rosario. It is recognized for its cool climate, forested landscapes, and tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for those seeking rural and nature tourism.
It maintains a strong religious tradition, reflected in its patron saint festivities in honor of San Juan Bautista, celebrated every June 24 with music, dances, processions, and typical gastronomy. Among its attractions are its natural swimming spots, rivers, and mountains, in addition to the hospitality of its people and its artisanal and agricultural production.
Of the towns in thesierra rosarense, Cacalotán is the one that best portrays rural life in colonial times. Its appearance of a forgotten mining town, like others bypassed by progress and modernity, allows it to retain that charm of a tranquil village. From the entrance, the cobblestone alleys leading to the town center show a landscape painted with nostalgia. Herds of donkeys roam the path, and the old houses withtejaroofs give it that interesting touch common to all mining corners of Sinaloa
