Day of the Carpenter
On March 19, the Día del Carpintero is commemorated, a date dedicated to honoring San José, husband of the Virgen María and earthly father of Jesús, considered the patron saint of carpenters and woodworkers.
In Mexico and other Catholic tradition countries, this date is a reason for celebration in workshops and communities where the work of carpenters, artisans, and builders is recognized. Some parishes hold masses in honor of San José, while families celebrate with traditional meals and give thanks for the work and livelihood provided by this trade
