Festival Cultural De Calaveras
The Cultural Festival of Calaveras is one of the most representative celebrations of Aguascalientes and a national benchmark for commemorating the Day of the Dead. It is considered the second most important tourist attraction in the state.
Each year, during the last days of October and the first days of November, the city transforms into a stage full of color, music, and tradition. The festival offers visitors and locals a unique cultural experience, reflecting the way the people of Aguascalientes honor their departed loved ones: with respect and joy.
Among its main attractions is the Parade of Calaveras, which brings together thousands of spectators with dance troupes, floats, monumental Catrinas, and light and sound shows, as well as the traditional altars and offerings, which display the symbolic richness of this festivity. In addition, there are gastronomic and artisan pavilions where visitors can enjoy typical dishes such as pan de muerto, sugar skulls, and regional snacks, as well as purchase local handicrafts.
The festival also features a wide program of cultural and artistic events, including music, dance, theater, exhibitions, workshops, and guided tours, most of which are free of charge. All of this makes the Cultural Festival of Calaveras a space where families can enjoy themselves, blending modernity with tradition to keep our cultural roots alive.
