15th Festival of the Dead in Tlaquepaque 2025
The 15th Festival of the Dead in Tlaquepaque 2025 arrives to immerse everyone in a magical experience that celebrates life, memory, and Mexico’s deepest traditions. From October 23 to November 2, the heart of the Magic Town of San Pedro Tlaquepaque will be filled with color, music, and art to honor those who have passed away but remain alive in the memories and hearts of their loved ones.
For seven days, the streets and plazas of the historic center will transform into a stage brimming with symbolism and creativity. Visitors will marvel at monumental altars, folk art exhibitions, giant catrinas, and floral and sawdust carpets that fill the air with the fragrance of marigolds and tradition. The festival will also feature themed parades, live music performances, dance shows, film screenings, and storytelling sessions that share legends and tales about death from a cultural and festive perspective.
Gastronomy will play a key role as well, with a showcase of seasonal dishes such as pan de muerto (Day of the Dead bread), atole, and candied pumpkin, all lovingly prepared by local hands. In the artisan market, visitors will find unique handmade pieces created by local artists, showcasing the spirit of Tlaquepaque and its exceptional craftsmanship in clay, ceramics, and blown glass.
The Festival of the Dead in Tlaquepaque is more than a celebration—it’s a meeting between past and present, a heartfelt expression of love and respect for life and death. This 2025, Tlaquepaque invites you to be part of its history, to celebrate our roots, and to be carried away by the magic that only this land can offer.
