Come and experience the Christmas magic in Pátzcuaro!
The Monumental Nativity Scene of Pátzcuaro, a one of a kind work at the national level, is made up of more than 26 pieces, some of which reach up to five meters in height. It is located in the Vasco de Quiroga Square, in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán.
The nativity scene, crafted by artisans from the seven regions of Michoacán, will be accompanied by a 30-meter Christmas tree and features deeply Michoacan elements: handicrafts from Santa Clara del Cobre, Tzintzuntzan, Pátzcuaro, Apatzingán, Uruapan, and Ihuatzio.
The Tlahualiles from Sahuayo, the Dance of the Old Men from Jarácuaro, the Water Carriers from Uruapan, and the Cuerudos from Apatzingán are just a few of the Michoacan figures that form part of this monumental nativity scene, alongside the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, the Three Wise Men, and the Angel.
It’s a night full of tradition, culture, and Christmas spirit in “the soul of Mexico.”
