If you're in charge of tamales for Candlemas Day, then you have to go to Candelarita.

This initiative of the Institute for Research and Promotion of Handicrafts of the Estado de México, offers a unique experience to enjoy tamales, atole, and handcrafted items, thus contributing to the cultural enrichment of Toluca and strengthening the local economy of artisans.

You'll find tamales de ollita (small pot tamales) or canary tamales; vegetable tamales or the classic mole, green, or rajas tamales at this location.

From January 30th to February 1st at the Parque de la Ciencia Fundadores in Toluca, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
