Carnaval de Veracruz

The Veracruz Carnaval (el Carnaval de Veracruz), recognized as the happiest party in the world, is one of the most important celebrations in Mexico and a reference in the Mexican Caribbean. Every year, the port is transformed into an open stage where the rhythm, color and hospitality of Veracruz mark the pulse of the city. Facing the Golfo de México, comparsas, parades and artistic expressions fill the streets in a celebration that combines popular heritage, tropical music and a deep sense of community.

Beyond the show, Carnival is a living experience that is shared between locals and visitors. Its inclusive character makes it a party for all ages, where traditions such as the symbolic Funeral of Juan Carnaval (simbolico entierro de Juan Carnaval)   coexist with contemporary musical proposals. For several weeks, the entire city joins the celebration, strengthening the identity of the port as a cheerful, open and festive destination.

What to do at Carnival?

In addition to major events, the Veracruz Carnaval will offer a wide agenda of cultural, artistic and recreational activities:

* Samba and batucada workshops, open to the public, which allow visitors and locals to actively engage in the rhythm of Carnival.

* Artistic workshops, such as making masks, mojigangas and makeup.

* Walks and tours full of surprises, with artists, characters and troupes that transform the streets into festive scenarios.

* Sports events, including a family race, encouraging coexistence and sport.

* Participation of Veracruz artists, salsa musicians and local, national and international talents that will reinforce the musical identity of the event.

Artistic programming and main parades

The musical programming of Carnival 2026 combines artists of national and international scope with popular proposals that connect with audiences of all ages:

February 10 - Quema del Mal Humor and Nelson Kanzela concert, marking the official start of the festivities and leaving behind the negative.

February 11 - Coronation of the Children's Kings and PICUS concert, in a celebration designed for the whole family.

February 12 – Coronation of the Carnival King and massive concert: Havana D'Primera, LaVoe Orchestra – Joseph Amado.

February 13 - Coronation of the Queen of Joy and concert by Carlos Rivera.

February 14 – First Grand Parade and Mexa Reggaeton concert.

February 15 – Second parade, of a family nature, with special participation of girls and boys in the floats, and Christian Nodal concert.

February 16 – Third parade and concert of Banda MS.

February 17 – Fourth parade and concert of Mon Laferte.

February 18 - Funeral of Juan Carnaval and Chiquito Team Band concert, closing the 2026 edition with music and tradition.
