XXXIX Edición Festival Quinto Sol
Since its inauguration in 1987, the Festival of the Fifth Sun has established itself as a space to pay homage to the indigenous peoples and the ancestral wisdom that guided their activities under the influence of the stars.
Its main purpose is to disseminate the worldview and preserve the cultural richness of the indigenous communities of the Estado de Mexico, while also fostering their participation in contemporary life.
Through traditional ceremonies of the Mazahua, Matlatzinca, Otomi, Tlahuica, and Nahua peoples, the memory of the ancestors is honored, and customs that remain alive in the identity of the people of the State of Mexico are preserved.
Currently, the festival extends to 69 municipalities, with more than 500 activities. This year, 2026, it will be celebrated from March 15 to 21, with artistic performances, workshops, conferences, culinary demonstrations, and more.
