Festival Internacional del Bolero y Jazz

From July 10 to 12, Veracruz will host “El Bolero y el Jazz,” a musical event that will bring together prominent national and international performers to celebrate two genres that have left a profound mark on the culture and musical heritage of Mexico and the world.

The events will take place simultaneously at the Teatro de la Reforma in the port of Veracruz and at the Teatro del Estado General Ignacio de la Llave in Xalapa. Performances will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The program will begin on Friday, July 10, with the Second “Youth for Bolero” Competition, as well as a performance by Héctor Infanzón and the Citadino Orchestra in Veracruz. In Xalapa, the Children’s Symphonic Mariachi, the Abraham Barrera Trio, and “Noche de Tríos” will perform, featuring Los Panchos, the Enarmonía Trio, and Rocío, as well as the Trío Dos Generaciones with Carlos Rangel.

On Saturday, July 11, the Teatro de la Reforma will host The Bean Tones, Vocal Jazz, and the “Night of Trios.” In Xalapa, Ed Lorenz & Alfonso Alquiciera and the Xalapa Jazz Orchestra will perform; this will be followed by the International Gala, headlined by Rodrigo de la Cadena and the Mexican Bolero Orchestra, conducted by Enrique Ríos.

On Sunday, July 12, in Veracruz, the Jazz Ambassadors and the New Orleans Jazz Museum Orchestra will perform; the Veracruz Youth Symphony Orchestra will accompany performances by Fernando de la Mora, María Katzarava, and Rodrigo de la Cadena, closing with Héctor Infanzón and the Citadino Orchestra. In Xalapa, the audience will be able to enjoy the music of the Los Bribones Duo, with a journey through bolero from the 1950s and 1960s, Cris Lobo Quartet; and the group Los Bronces, with a funk-jazz set.

All events are free of charge, so it is recommended to arrive early to enjoy this great musical celebration.
