Donají, La Leyenda

The grandeur of Oaxacan history and tradition comes to life in *Donají, La Leyenda*, one of the most eagerly anticipated stage productions of the Guelaguetza season. On July 19 and 26, the Guelaguetza Auditorium will serve as the stage for the story of Donají, the Zapotec princess who, as a symbol of peace and loyalty to her people, sacrificed her life during the conflicts between the Zapotecs and the Mixtecs. Her legacy has stood the test of time and today represents the pride, identity, and strength of the people of Oaxaca.

Featuring a large cast, music, dance, traditional costumes, and a production that highlights the beauty of Cerro del Fortín, this performance combines art, history, and tradition into an unforgettable experience for those visiting Oaxaca during the July festivities. Additionally, boxes C and D are completely free, allowing the public to enjoy this iconic show and experience firsthand one of the state’s most important cultural expressions.
