Noche de Rábanos

The Night of the Radishes (Noche de Rábanos) is one of Oaxaca’s most unique, historic, and colorful Christmas traditions. Originating in the late 19th century as a clever marketing contest among local farmers, today it has evolved into a world-renowned competition of ephemeral art where artisans transform oversized radishes, corn husks (totomoxtle), and dried flowers (flor inmortal) into breathtaking sculptures.
