Casa Talavera is a historic and cultural corner in La Merced. A former viceregal building transformed into a space for art, community, and tradition in the heart of Mexico City.
Casa Talavera in Mexico City is a historic 18th-century building and a representative example of viceregal architecture in the city. Originally a tenement house, it now functions after a restoration process as a cultural and academic space dedicated to research, cultural dissemination, and the arts.
Managed by the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Casa Talavera hosts exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and community activities, contributing to the preservation of urban heritage and the strengthening of cultural life in the La Merced neighborhood.
