Parish of San Miguel Arcángel
The Parish of San Miguel Arcángel is a religious building of Franciscan origin that initially served as the temple of the Third Order. Worship began here in 1611, and during the episcopate of Juan de Palafox y Mendoza the church was secularized, ending its association with the Franciscan order. In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, its original altarpieces were replaced with neoclassical altars, and the main façade was also modified. Today, the parish reflects the various historical and artistic stages experienced by Huejotzingo over time.
