Municipal Palace of Huauchinango

The Municipal Palace of Huauchinango stands as one of the most majestic and historic landmarks in northern Puebla. Built in 1835 under the name Casa Nacional, this colonial-style building is distinguished by its elegant quarry-stone façade and its crowned tower, a symbol of the architectural splendor of the 19th century. In 1857, a second level was added, creating a double arcade of eleven arches on the ground floor and seven on the upper floor, in perfect symmetry. Its tower holds a four-faced Swiss clock, brought by the sons of General Rafael Cravioto Pacheco, which still marks the rhythm of local life. The Palace has witnessed countless historical moments and today serves as the administrative heart of the municipality. A walk around its plaza allows visitors to admire the stone details and feel the strength of a structure that has withstood nearly two centuries. Its grandeur and architectural value make it a must-see destination for those seeking to connect with the living history of Huauchinango.
