Environmental Sustainability
The “Agro Park Sitio Grande” initiative has been active from 2018 to 2025 in the state of Tabasco, in the municipality of Teapa, with a social, environmental, and economic approach.
This initiative integrates agroecological production with educational tourism experiences. It emerged as a response to the need to diversify the rural economy, revalue traditional agricultural practices, and promote environmental awareness among visitors and local communities.
Visitors take part in interpretive tours where they learn about agroecology and organic farming techniques, efficient use of natural resources (water, solar energy, and composting), biodiversity, and local gastronomy. Additionally, the initiative promotes community participation, fair trade, and the training of local producers in rural tourism and sustainability.
