Tecate is the only Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) located on a border. It\\\\\\\'s the starting point of the Wine Route, home to some of the state\\\\\\\'s oldest wineries. It\\\\\\\'s the place where you can enjoy one of Baja California\\\\\\\'s greatest natural gems: La Rumorosa.

The town of Tecate was incorporated into the Magical Towns program on December 20, 2012.

Some of the activities you can do in Tecate include: visiting the Tecate Brewery, exploring the Puerta Norte Wine Route or the Don Juan Wine Cellar, hiking in La Rumorosa or El Vallecito, climbing El Cuchamá Mountain, and visiting the Vallecitos Archaeological Zone.

Its local cuisine is characterized by the following dishes: abalone tiradito, slices of abalone, or seafood accompanied by spicy sauce. However, what most characterizes this town is its famous sweet bread.

In the municipality of Tecate, artisanal activity is of significant importance, due to the production of clay and glass products whose main destination is export to the United States.

Its most famous festival is the celebration of the Virgin of Guadalupe on December 12, where dances, processions, and performances dedicated to her take place.
