The Mercado Aculco is a natural meeting place for people visiting the area. Whether you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve driven in from the neighboring town, or traverse a couple of continents. The food is always fresh, and it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s always being cooked.
The market spans the northernmost edges of the giant Jorge Jiménez Cantú Esplanade. That\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s virtually the entire west end of Aculco\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s famously walkable, (and charming) historic center. It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s also home to an auditorium, a kids\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' day care center, and the famous El Oso Bueno fountain. It\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s actually carved from the same local quarry stone that provides cladding to the rest of the plaza.
The market boasts all over that it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s artisan cheeses are the thing to try. But hungry visitors should check out the number eateries within the smaller artisan market, and in it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s northern reaches in the main municipal market. There are places that have been serving locals for decades.
Of course, the market is also famous for the local artisans who set up shop here. Their work will even stretch across the plazas outside to the famous kiosk that serves as ground-zero for the town center. So in addition to fresh fruits, green, beans and everything else, you\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ll find textiles, art works and novelties.
