The town of Temacapulín was incorporated into the Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns) program on June 26, 2023.

It is considered the cradle of hot springs due to its numerous spas of this type. Even its name honors this tourist attraction, as it originates from Nahuatl and means "thermal bath," so you will have hot spring spas to choose from.

This site has a wide variety of tourist attractions, among the most notable are: Temacapulín Spas, Lateran Basilica, Cristo de Temaca, Río Verde, Ruins of the Old Pantheon, Basilica of Our Lady of Remedies, Royal Houses, and Farms.

Notable foods include pozole, jocoque, and fish cooked in mezcal leaves; sweets made with milk, especially cajeta; and beverages such as the famous tequila and mezcal.

Its most famous celebrations are:

  • Patron Saint Festivities in honor of Our Lady of Los Remedios, December 31 to January 8.
  • Feast of the Candelaria, January 24 to February 5.
