Museo de Arte de Querétaro
History, art and culture in the heart of the city.
In what was considered one of the most important baroque cloisters of America: the Ex Convent of San Agustin, is located the Museo de Arte de Querétaro (Art Museum of Queretaro). This museum, founded in 1988, has as its objective to spread the plastic work of artists of state, national and international level, as well as to organize activities directed to the preservation of the historical patrimony and the diffusion of the culture and the arts. It mainly displays mannerist, baroque, neoclassical and modern works, as well as other donations from Mexican artists.
Currently, after some restorations, it has permanent and temporary exhibition rooms that house works from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century. Each year it receives hundreds of exhibitions of Mexican and foreign artists, in addition to giving life to artistic events, concerts, conferences, book presentations and plays. The MAQRO also seeks to promote educational programs with a variety of workshops for all audiences that you cannot miss.
