Spread across nearly 113 hectares, the Metropolitan Park of Guadalajara offers space to walk, jog, cycle, skate, have a picnic, use outdoor gyms, and walk your dog in pet-friendly zones.

The park was inaugurated on February 14, 1997, and has since become a local landmark for those who enjoy outdoor activities and green spaces.

Educational Ecological Trail

Launched in 2010 to promote ecological awareness, this program is designed for school groups. Kids can tour key areas of the park like the butterfly garden, greenhouse, and pond. Activities also include plaster painting and planting a family garden. Reservations must be made directly with the park.

MetroCan Dog Park

If you love spending time with your dog and are looking for new places to visit, MetroCan is a dedicated dog park where your furry friend can enjoy a small lake and an obstacle course designed just for pets.

Cycling Track

Whether you bring your own bike or rent one at the park, there are several shaded circuits for cycling. Rental options include bicycles, tricycles, and quadricycles—a fun experience for groups.

Soccer

Into soccer? The park features a space called MetroGol, perfect for casual matches with friends. You can enjoy friendly games or participate in amateur leagues.

Central Lake

A favorite area for walking or relaxing, the central lake is surrounded by several “family zones” where you can picnic or host small gatherings. Nearby, you’ll find the park’s iconic large lettering: Parque Metropolitano de Guadalajara.

Skating Rink

Grab your skates and invite your family or friends to glide around the dedicated skating area within the park.

Photo Sessions

Whether it’s for a special event, a casual photo shoot, or just your love of photography, the park offers many scenic spots surrounded by nature.

Jogging Trails

To keep up with your fitness routine, the park features three jogging paths of 3, 5, and 7 kilometers.

Sculptures

As you walk and enjoy the outdoors, you’ll come across a collection of artistic sculptures, including one called The Triumph of the Earth.

Quarter Century Forest

This small wooded area offers a peaceful spot to rest on benches shaded by jacaranda trees—just one of the many native species found here.

The Tree That Walked

This unique tree, a camichin, lies horizontally across the ground. Known as “the fallen tree,” it adds a distinctive touch to the landscape. Be sure to find it and snap a photo!
