Essential water supply, aquatic recreation, and nature in the Magical Town of Santiago

Rodrigo Gómez Dam “La Boca”

Built between 1961 and 1963 and named in honor of the Monterrey banker Rodrigo Gómez, this dam in Nuevo León spans approximately 455 hectares and stores around 40 million cubic meters of water, serving as one of Monterrey’s main water suppliers.

The reservoir receives water from several mountainous watersheds, including La Chueca and Los Cavazos, and features a boardwalk surrounded by mountains, which has become a popular tourist spot for families and visitors from across Mexico.

Visitors can enjoy activities such as sport and commercial fishing, water sports, boat or catamaran rides, and local cuisine at lakeside restaurants.
