Jewels of the Huasteca Tour
This trip is designed for true adventurers who enjoy nature at its finest: beaches, rivers, and islands. If you love swimming, exploring, and getting away from the hustle and bustle, this experience is perfect for you. Throughout this journey, you’ll discover two coastal destinations in northern Veracruz: Tuxpan and Tamiahua, both guardians of a natural treasure protected by CONANP: Isla Lobos, a marine gem with crystal-clear waters that you absolutely must visit at least once in your life.
We begin our adventure in Tuxpan, renowned for its beautiful sunsets, its pleasant boardwalk, and its lively coastal atmosphere. We’ll visit its nature reserve, the Huerto de Bambú, and the mystical Foco Tonal, where you’ll experience a unique connection with the energy of the place. Plus, you’ll delight in its exquisite local cuisine, which combines Huastec flavors with a wide variety of fresh seafood.
The second day will be the most adventurous. We’ll set sail for a roughly 1-hour-and-15-minute boat ride to the spectacular Isla Lobos. Along the way, you’ll admire the sea’s shifting hues, observe marine life, and enjoy the natural surroundings until we reach this paradise of turquoise waters and white sand.
After an unforgettable day, we’ll return to spend the night in the charming coastal town of Tamiahua.
The final day will be dedicated to enjoying Tamiahua’s beaches and its unparalleled cuisine. You can’t leave without trying the traditional fish on a stick, grilled octopus, or fish cooked on the grill, accompanied by fresh cocktails typical of the region.
Tamiahua is also a cradle of history and culture: our local guide will share with you the Afro-descendant heritage that forms part of the soul of this community, as well as the Afrover collective, which promotes the identity of the so-called “third root.”
