Feria del Tamal de Ollita
Flavor, tradition, and time-honored ingredients await you at the 13th Annual Tamale de Ollita Fair in the municipality of Ocoyoacac.
This fair in the Estado de México will take place on January 31st and February 1st in the Plaza de los Insurgentes, where approximately 45 local producers will set up to offer this traditional dish.
The traditional cooks will serve the public during two shifts: in the morning, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and in the afternoon, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The tamale de ollita is a tradition from the Estado de México that is especially prominent during the Candelaria celebration. It is characterized by a hole being made in the dough while it is being kneaded, into which green, red, pumpkin seed, or mole sauce is placed, along with pork or chicken.
