Hacienda de Gogorrón in Villa de Reyes
Hacienda Gogorrón, history and cinema in one place
The first land grants for this hacienda date back to 1592, awarded to Pedro de Arizmendi Gogorrón, originally from Zacatecas and one of the signatories of the founding act of San Luis Minas del Potosí. From its beginnings, the hacienda stood out for its production: it established a mill for grinding and refining, and in less than 12 years, it had 12 smelting and refining furnaces, consolidating itself as a significant economic center in the region.
Over the centuries, the hacienda has been owned by wealthy individuals and has preserved its architectural grandeur, becoming a perfect setting for creativity and art. Its history and aesthetic have made it a filming location for cinema and television, such as the productions “Mina Viento de Libertad” (1976), “El Vuelo del Águila” (1985), and “The Mask of Zorro” (2004), as well as a photographic set for culture, tourism, and lifestyle magazines.
Visiting Hacienda Arizmendi Gogorrón is not only a journey into the past but also a place where history intertwines with art and cinematography. Every corner of the hacienda reflects centuries of tradition, power, and creativity, making each visit a unique experience that combines history, architecture, and living culture.
