A charming town located in the northwest of the Estado de México, historically inhabited by the Mazahua community. One of its sacred spaces is Xocotépetl Hill, where the Xocotépetl Ecotourism Park is located. Guided activities, free hiking, and mountain biking are available.

Throughout the year, you can visit Tiacaque Park, located on the road to Ixtlahuaca, with a lagoon that is an important aquaculture center, producing nearly 4,000 tons of trout annually. Admission is $30 pesos, and activities start at $50 per person.

The regional culinary specialty is barbecued carp.

Tourist service providers also offer experiences such as planting and harvesting berries and making jams.

The town's main building is the Temple of Jesus of Nazareth, made of carved stone and quarry, dating from the 19th century.

One of its most representative festivities is the Pilgrimage of the Lord of Expiration on December 1.
