The Parish of Santiago Apóstol (Parroquia de Santiago Apóstol) is the architectural and spiritual symbol of the Magical Town of Tapijulapa. Built at the end of the 17th century by the Dominican order, this striking colonial temple stands out for its vibrant red facade with white accents and its traditional clay-tile roof. To reach it, visitors must climb a picturesque stone staircase that winds up the hill—an effort that is instantly rewarded at the top.
