El Cerrito Church

Founded between 1840 and 1852, this church holds strong historical and devotional significance of Tlatlauquitepec, Puebla. Every December 12, the community celebrates the Virgin of Guadalupe with traditional festivities such as fireworks, bull-shaped firework frames, greasy pole contests, ribbon races, and dances. The church is reached by 176 steps, which are illuminated throughout December, creating a striking visual spectacle.
