Taurino Museum

In the heart of Huamantla, next to the iconic La Taurina Bullring, stands a building that safeguards centuries of tradition and passion: the Miguel Corona Medina Bullfighting Museum. This space is a living tribute to the bullfighting history of Tlaxcala.

Among its rooms are preserved scale models of the country's most emblematic bullrings, bullfighting costumes that belonged to great figures like Eloy Cavazos and Manolete, as well as muletas, capes, and banderillas that evoke the solemnity of the ring. Display cases exhibit swords, vintage posters, and photographs that document legendary bullfights, while three impressive murals narrate the history of the Huamantlada and pay homage to the Tlaxcalan bullfighters who have made their mark.

Informative panels help visitors understand the evolution of bullfighting and its influence on art and music, highlighting Huamantla's importance as a quintessential bullfighting region. The museum, managed by the Huamantla Bullfighting Club, features a central stone courtyard where gatherings and book presentations are held, creating an intimate and cultural atmosphere.

It also offers guided tours by reservation and allows photography at no extra charge. For children, it organizes workshops where bullfighting history is explored through crafts and storytelling, fostering creative learning.

The experience is enhanced by views of the neighboring bullring and the surrounding area: shops selling bullfighting memorabilia and restaurants offering traditional dishes like mole and barbacoa, making the visit an unforgettable cultural and gastronomic journey.
