Ex Hacienda de Temixco

The Ex Hacienda de Temixco is a water park set within the grounds of a former hacienda in the south of Cuernavaca. One of the largest producers of sugar, rice, alcohol, corn, and beans in its day, the giant estate later served as an armory during the independence war. It also briefly held Japanese prisoners during during World War II.

The Hacienda was founded way back in 1627. It grew to cover an area of some 130,000 square meters. Today, the historic space has been transformed into a family-focused water park. Much of the original architecture is preserved and surrounded by spacious gardens, green areas, and pools for swimming, reflecting, and lots more. The park is a great place for family events or simply for resting, socializing, and enjoying a totally different kind of day.

Facilities include extensive gardens, water games, a river and wave pool, the Toborama multi-slide area, kids\\\\\\\' play area, picnic areas, and dressing and changing areas. There are also a restaurant, cabins, and similar accommodations.

Getting to Temicco is simple. The former hacienda is about 25 minutes directly south of the Casino de Selva bus station in area well served by public transit. There is parking on the grounds.
