Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Querétaro, Querétaro

In the heart of Querétaro's Historic Center, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Querétaro (Querétaro Museum of Contemporary Art (MACQ)) stands as a bridge between the past and the present.
Located in the former novitiate of the Santa Cruz convent, a 17th-century building that has witnessed historical transformations from missionary school to military barracks and elementary school, the MACQ opened its doors in 2018 after careful restoration that preserved its heritage value.
With an area of more than 2,000 square meters, the museum houses 14 rooms distributed over two levels, a sculpture courtyard, a media library, a library, a digital art room, a laboratory, and an archive. This space not only exhibits contemporary artworks but also promotes dialogue and participation between artists and the community, consolidating itself as a cultural reference point in the region.
