Jardín botánico Regional de Cadereyta
The Jardín botánico Regional de Cadereyta (Cadereyta Regional Botanical Garden) is a scientific and educational institution located in Cadereyta de Montes, Querétaro. Founded on April 25, 1991, it is part of the Council of Science and Technology of the State of Queretaro (CONCYTEQ) and is dedicated to the study, conservation and use of Mexican flora, especially that of the Queretaro-Hidalguense semi-desert. The Botanical Garden is recognized for its work in the artificial reproduction of endangered species and for being one of the 20 most important botanical gardens in Mexico. It also offers free guided tours 365 days a year.
In the heart of the Queretaro semi-desert, the Jardín botánico Regional de Cadereyta (Cadereyta Regional Botanical Garden) “Ing. Manuel González de Cosío” is a natural refuge that celebrates the diversity and resilience of Mexican flora.
Since its founding in 1991, this space has been key in the conservation of endemic and endangered species, focusing especially on the plants of the semi-desert. Its five botanical collections-including cacti, agaves, Querétaro Valley vegetation, and the genus Mammillaria-offer a tour of the region's plant wealth.
In addition to its scientific work, the garden promotes environmental education through free guided tours, available 365 days a year, giving visitors the opportunity to connect with nature and understand the importance of its preservation.
