México

Mexico State

Few people realize that Mexico the country is named for the people excluded from colonial San Juan Tenochtitlan. These were the ancient Mexica people. Their territory, beyond the tiny colonial capital, was named "Mexico" and it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s a fascinating place that still suffers from that mix of being too close and too far away from the capital. But it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s a land of many magical and enchanted small towns, endless landscapes, and places that are still immersed in mystery, legend, and folklore. As Mexico City getaways go, it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s loaded with options. But it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s also got full-blown vacation destinations, a stellar capital closer than ever by train, and plenty of discoveries.
