Cultural Sustainability
The initiative “Travel With Me Morelos” has been active since 2025 (pilot phase) in the state of Morelos, with statewide reach and a social and environmental focus.
The purpose of this initiative is to promote social inclusion and the equitable right of vulnerable groups to enjoy and benefit from the state’s tourism resources. This social tourism program, with a sustainable and educational approach, also seeks to promote knowledge of natural and cultural heritage, as well as to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable practices in the environment.
Key actions include the organization of guided visits with educational content, the implementation of workshops on traditional, sustainable, and environmental practices, collaboration with host communities and local service providers to encourage a solidarity-based economy, and the integration of educational materials that reinforce learning during activities. Through these efforts, tourism is positioned as a tool for inclusion, awareness, and sustainable development across all social sectors.
Main impacts and results of this initiative:
• Beneficiaries: 310 individuals directly served during 2025.
• Priority groups served: 120 individuals from indigenous communities, 40 older adults, 116 children, 150 women, and 130 families.
• Visits and heritage sites included: 7 tourism, cultural, and environmental sites incorporated into the program.
• Institutional partnerships: 6 collaborating institutions involved in program implementation and logistics.
