Travel with Nayarit for All Program

Cultural Sustainability

The initiative “Travel with Nayarit for All Program” has been active during the period 2023–2025 in the state of Nayarit, reaching the municipalities of San Blas, Compostela, Jala, Ixtlán del Río, Tepic, and Ahuacatlán, with a social and environmental focus.

It promotes the creation and strengthening of tourism routes with local identity, community participation, and an inclusive approach. The program enables the design, validation, and promotion of tourism routes, ensuring the participation of service providers, community leaders, and Municipal Tourism Advisory Councils. Its purpose is to diversify the tourism offer through the development of authentic, sustainable, and accessible experiences that integrate natural, cultural, historical, and gastronomic attractions.

Each route includes a territorial diagnosis, technical training, the signing of commitment agreements, professional audiovisual documentation, and community validation. The initiative also promotes the installation of informational signage and waste disposal points in protected natural areas, the reuse and management of organic waste for compost production—supporting alternative projects—as well as the “leave no trace” principle, encouraging environmental stewardship.

Main impacts and results of this initiative:

• Creation of more than 12 tourism routes integrated across different regions of the state.

• Participation of more than 70 tourism service providers from 10 municipalities.

• 6 training sessions and working groups to strengthen stakeholder participation.

• More than 250 service providers directly trained.

• The “Travel with Nayarit for All Program” has benefited more than 2,500 people, allowing them to enjoy 29 routes subsidized by the Ministry of Tourism. These activities aim to activate micro-destinations, generate local economic benefits, and preserve state traditions.

• 8 young participants involved through the “Young People Building the Future” program, receiving training in traditional trades and knowledge such as gastronomy, handicrafts, natural medicine, and cigar-making.
