This ceremony seeks to reconnect the senses with Mother Earth and revalue cacao as it was for our ancestors: “the drink of the Gods.” The experience concludes with a tasting of cacao beans, pozol, and artisanal chocolate, closing with a moment of gratitude and reflection on the importance of cacao in the cultural identity of the region.
Delve into the world of cacao through a sensory and spiritual experience guided by Veronica, a local host who welcomes visitors with a warm and profound introduction to this ancient seed. The day begins with a transfer to the cacao plantations, where a mystical ceremony invites you to reconnect your senses with Mother Earth and the ancestral legacy of cacao.
During the tour, participants will learn about the origins, uses, and symbolism of cacao throughout history. Its domestication by the Olmecs stands out, who passed this knowledge on to the Mayan and Aztec peoples, consolidating cacao as a sacred food, known as "the drink of the gods."
This encounter goes beyond the informative: it is a call for reflection, through practices that honor nature, spirituality, and the cultural legacy that cacao represents in the region.
The experience culminates with a tasting of cacao beans, pozol, and artesanal chocolate, closing with a space for gratitude and contemplation, which reinforces the importance of this seed as a fundamental part of the cultural identity of southeastern Mexico.
