La Campana ANP

The La Campana Protected Natural Area, situated within the Colima–Villa de Álvarez metropolitan zone, spans around 94 hectares of native vegetation and lush trails, offering an exciting spot for ecotourism and outdoor recreation.

This natural oasis is perfect for walking, cycling, or simply enjoying serene green spaces. Trails weave through gallery forests and low‑dry forests, ideal for panoramic views, peaceful relaxation, or shaded reading moments.

A highlight of the area is the La Campana Ethnobiological Garden, a living museum featuring three living collections: low‑dry forest, gallery forest, and agro‑medicinal plants. Guided tours, workshops, and educational activities showcase traditional uses of plants and mushrooms, reflecting the deep biocultural ties between local communities and nature.

Families, athletes, and wellness seekers will enjoy picnic areas, open lawns for games or relaxation, and regularly scheduled cultural events, workshops, and community gatherings in open-air venues.

With multiple access points from Colima City, La Campana offers a convenient nature escape that remains close to urban amenities. It’s an ideal destination throughout the year for reconnecting with nature.
