San Andrés Tuxtla, Veracruz

Where nature meets history and adventure

Adventures and Landscapes that Await You

Welcome to San Andrés Tuxtla, a privileged corner in the south of Veracruz, where nature unfolds at its best.

My story dates back to pre-Hispanic times, when the Olmecs inhabited these lands. Today, I am known for my rich cultural heritage and my impressive natural landscapes.

San Andrés Tuxtla, land of waterfalls, jungles and legends that I jealously keep for those who dare to discover me.

In my heart roars the Cascada de Eyipantla, my most imposing jewel, a waterfall that not only refreshes the body, but shakes the soul with its strength. I have been the scene of movies and stories that are told at the foot of my endless haze.

But I'm also an adventure. In my Cascada El Tucán you can rappel, slide on a zip line and feel the emotion of throwing yourself under a waterfall that rumbles like a jungle drum.

Surprises spring from my humid forest: on the horizon I hide the Playa Ermitas, virgin and turquoise, where my lava rocks protect caves that look like marine cenotes. There you can swim, dive or jump into the water from my cliffs, while the sea whispers old stories.

I'm a mystery too. My Laguna Encantada plays with water cycles: I go up when I should go down, I go down when I should grow. No one has managed to decipher me completely, and I like to be like this: enigmatic and ancestral.

And on my coast, the majestic Roca Partida keeps secrets of ancient cultures and legends of pirates who chose me as a refuge.

My cliffs, my caverns and my golden beaches invite you to paddle in a kayak, climbing, walk or simply contemplate how the sea divides in two in front of the immensity of the sky.

I'm not just nature: I'm flavor and tradition. I recognize myself in the memelas gigantes, in the purple tamales with coconut, in the green mondongo, in the chagalapoli liqueur and in the sweets that sweeten life.

Walk my streets and you will find me in my Cathedral, in the Regional Museum, in the boats that run through Isla del Terrón and in the joy of my people, always ready to welcome you with open arms.

Part of my territory is part of the Los Tuxtlas Biosphere Reserve, a protected natural area that houses a rich biodiversity and is an ideal destination for ecotourism lovers.

I am San Andrés Tuxtla: living jungle, eternal water and deep history.
