Guadalupe, a municipality with a deep cultural and religious heritage, is known for its vibrant festivities that attract both locals and tourists. These celebrations, which include religious, cultural, and traditional events, showcase the community’s passion and strong identity. From the Good Friday Via Crucis to the Guadalupe State Fair, each event carries a special meaning, reflecting the devotion and customs that have been passed down through generations.

The Municipality of Guadalupe was officially named a “Pueblo Mágico” ofZacatecason October 11, 2018.

Its origins date back to 1578, and it forms part of the historic “Camino Real de Tierra Adentro”, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural and historical significance.

Guadalupe boasts several natural attractions, including Jardín Juárez, Cerro San Simón, Ecoparque Centenario, Eremitorio Sacromonte, and the Water Museum Park. Its local crafts reflect the region’s identity, featuring rustic wooden furniture, hand-carved quarry stone, wool textiles, and fine jewelry.

Among its most important cultural and historical landmarks are the Guadalupe Museum, the Convent of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Sanctuary of the Child of Las Palomitas, the Novitiate Chapel, the Naples Chapel, the Municipal Historical Archive, the Civic Relic Room, and the Parish of the Sacred Hearts.

When it comes to gastronomy, Guadalupe delights visitors with unique flavors: gorditas made with fresh corn, served with jocoque and ground cinnamon, as well as tuna panela cheese, charamuscas (traditional candy), tuna honey, melcochas, and torrejas.
